3rd Grade – Mrs. Hadley

One week until Thanksgiving Break, but who’s counting! 🙂 We have a week that is cram packed full of learning, so please make sure that your child is here everyday. Below is what we will be working on this week and important dates.

MATH – This week we will continue working on lesson 9 and then we will move to lesson 10.  Please make sure that you are practicing the multiplication facts with your child at home.

ELA – ELA: This week we will be working on Unit 3 Week 1 in our Wonders program and we will be taking the end of unit assessment. Below is an outline of what we are learning in class.

MATH – This week we will continue working on lesson 8 and then we will move to lesson 9. We will use grouping to make multiplication easier to solve and then use place value to multiply. Please make sure that you are practicing the multiplication facts with your child at home.

ELA: This week we will be working on Unit 2 Week 5 in our Wonders program and we will be taking the end of unit assessment. Below is an outline of what we are learning in class.

Our Halloween party and parade is on Monday!! YAY! We have some great parents coming in to help and we can’t wait. The school parade will be at 9:00. Please remember that there should be no weapons, blood or gore.

This week is also Positive Me Week. Here is the list of dress up fun for Positive Me Week:

  • Scare drugs away. Wear your Halloween costume!

  • Dress like someone who doesn’t do drugs!  Twin with a friend, teacher, celebrity, etc.

• Thursday- Throwback Thursday
  • Decades Dress. Drugs are so in the PAST!
• Friday- Flannel Friday
  • Don’t fall for drugs!

I hope everyone had an amazing fall break. The weather has been beautiful, so I hope you got out and enjoyed it. I know that I did!!

Two big things are happening this week. First, on Tuesday is the Cookie Dough and Jerky pick up day. Make sure your get your orders!! Then on Wednesday we have our first field trip. WAHOO!!! We will be meeting at the Roy Front Runner station that day and you will be picking your child up from there as well. Please remember that we will be back early and that you will need to pick up your child @ 2:45.

HELP NEEDED!!! – We are still looking for a few brave souls who can help us with our Halloween Party. I already have three parents who have said they can help out, but I need 2 more. Please contact me and let know if you can help. Our party time will be from 10:00ish-11:20.

Math – This week we are working on lesson 7. Below is the family letter explaining how I teach this lesson and it includes an activity that helps with this skill. If you would like to give your child extra practice with multiplication, this activity would be an excellent option to use.

ELA: This week we will be working on Unit 2 Week 2 in our Wonders program. Below is an outline of what we are learning in class.

We have a short week this week. Only two days, but several things are happening in these two days. The first thing that needs to be turned in this week is money for our upcoming field trip & the permission form. If volunteers have not paid by Tuesday the 11th you will not have a spot for one of our volunteers. Please make sure you pay the office or online. Field Trip Form

The second thing that is happening is our evacuation drill. This will happen on Tuesday afternoon. Please make sure that you have read the emails administration has sent home for all of the details.

Halloween – This year Halloween is on a Monday. We will be having a class party and I am looking for 5 amazing parents to help plan and run this day. We will be having our class party from 10:00ish-11:25. Please let me know if you can help, or if you have any fun ideas that we can do this day.

MATH & ELA – We will be reviewing what we have learned so far in all subjects.

We are in October and I am losing my mind. The time has gone by so quickly. We have some big things coming up this month, s0 please make sure that you check the blog often.

We are creating apple witches this October. A huge thank you to the parents that came out and helped us carve the faces. We will be dressing our witches later in the month. On Monday, I will be sending home a pattern for the apple witch dress. It is a pretty basic dress, but it does require a little sewing, or glueing. Either works fine. I am looking for a few parent volunteers that could help us sew dresses, if needed. Please contact me if you can help sew.

Our first field trip is coming up!! We will be taking the Frontrunner to the Curiosity Museum at Thanksgiving Point. Permission forms, parent volunteer opportunities, and more information will be posted on Monday. So please check back!!

Halloween – This year Halloween is on a Monday. We will be having a class party and I am looking for some amazing parents to help us run this day. I will be emailing out a Google Form asking for volunteers. I am so excited for this day!!!!
