Our students get the opportunity to do on level spelling and word work according to each individual child’s needs. We are doing a program called Words Their Way. Students are put into leveled groups according to needs. While in these groups they get to sort word patterns and practice how to recognize words and spelling patterns. This will help them become master future spellers!
We are learning a word sort together as a class this week. I recorded our lesson today for those of you (parents and students) that are new to the Words Their Way program. Take a look and see how we start a new list. Watch for more videos to explain the different ways/games we play to practice our word sorts.

I can see the smilebox videos but I do not see any videos related to lessons. Are they somewhere I’m just not looking?
There is a post after the smilebox post that says “Word Sorts Help” that is a lesson video. Its just there to educate everyone on word sorts.
