I will be doing things a little differently with spelling sorts tests on Friday. Students will still use the same assessment we have been using to see how well they developed their spelling skills over the week. IN ADDITION, they will need to pass a mini spelling test on the back, spelling 10 words for me. So now these tests will be worth 20 points instead of 10.

It is important for students to retain these words in their little brains! It will be a little harder now that they won’t have words to just “pick from”. Help them by verbally quizzing them on their words each week!

We are approaching the half way point of second grade. I still have a few students that have not passed off addition. It is so important to pass this and subtraction off in second grade so they will be ready for multiplication in third grade!

My goal is to have them pass addition and subtraction in here so we can get going on multiplication! Any head start helps right!?

Our class party is this Friday, yeah! Anyone who volunteered, or would still like to volunteer to help, we will party from 10:20-11:00, then continue after lunch from 12:00-1:00. Please come if you’d like!

I will also be bringing some yummy taco soup to share for lunch for any volunteers who
