Subtracting with regrouping

We are learning so much in math right now! As second graders we get to learn how to subtract with regrouping. Here is a little video on how we go through the procedure. Over Thanksgiving break, if you have a chance, give them a few problems to practice so they have practice with this brand new skill! They are doing amazing with it!

Holiday Party!

We are in need of helpers for our Holiday Party in December! The party will be December 18, 10:00- 1:00

No need for any planning, just extra hands. Please contact Jeanine directly if you can help: gjhump@aol.com

We also need some large tubs to use at the party! We’ll get them a little dirty, but return them sparkly clean! Maybe something like this.

Teacher vacation!

I just wanted to let you all know that I will be out of town the week of November 30- December 4. If you have any questions or problems, please check with the office. I have a fabulous Sub lined up and students will still have a busy week of learning in school. I will return December 7.

Cooking Club FULL

Cooking club is FULL! We had a huge response, which makes me very excited! If the club is successful and things go well, I’d love to offer a second session in the Spring for students who haven’t had a chance to be in it. I will let you know how things go! Thanks for your interest in our fun 2nd grade Cooking Club!!

After School Cooking Club

We will be learning to measure, mix and create! Mrs. Lindsey and Mrs. Cashin are excited to teach you about cooking, measuring and cleaning up! We are offering a 6-week course, on Thursdays after school. If it is successful, we hope to offer additional cooking classes in the future.  

The first 3 students from each 2nd grade class will be admitted according to the following criteria.

  • turn in the contract/permission slip signed by both the student and the parent

  • an attached receipt for $10 food donation (paid to the office) 

  • Follow all the rules on the Contract
