STEM- Bobbing for Apples

Here is our November STEM project:

ASK: HERE’S THE PROBLEM

The town of STEM-a-Lot wants to hold a “bobbing for apples” contest. They know that people usually grab the apples out of a tub of water with their mouths, but no one in town wants to get wet. They know that as an engineer, you have the skills to build a device they can use to grab the apples. We are counting on your skills with the five P’s: problem solving, planning, perseverance, patience, and presentation as you engineer an answer!

We need you to engineer a device that can grab apples out of the tub of water in the least amount of time. You can only use the materials in the bag you have been given.

Let’s do some research, click on the link below and read all about Bobbing for apples

Dog Toy Inventory

In math we decided to count everything we had! The students took inventory, then added all the items up (this helped us practice our adding with regrouping).
