 WORD SORT HOMEWORK: Refer to the list below to PRINT their sort for the week.  


Spelling List Sort groups

Group 1- Presley, Ashita, Kyler, Donovan
Group 2- Daegan, Matt, Kelcey, Hailee, Corbin, Summer, Jaxon, Lauryl
Group 3- Xavian, Paige, London, Jazmin, Bridger, Ammon
Group 4- Addie, Kenzley, JC, Jensen, Austin, Braxtyn, Damian

Monday-Cut and Sort with an adult and explain this week’s rule.

Tuesday- Put words in ABC order. Have your buddy (parent/ older sibling) check the order. Then write/type them in ABC order.

Wednesday- Buddy sort, then write/type the words in the “writing sort” section.

Thursday- Choose 6 of this week’s word study words. Write/type each word in a complete sentence. Each sentence must have at least 5 words. Underline each word in the sentence

If you have trouble submitting homework online, you may print it each week and submit it that way.

Print on Mondays, complete assignments nightly, check off what you completed! At the end of the week, GLUE the sort on the back page. 
Optional Printed Homework is DUE on FRIDAY!

You all did so great with homework this week. Please remember that if you score 8 or below on your Front Row assignment, please redo it and I’ll give you the better score. Parents, if you check SIS, you will see your student’s Homework grade so far. If you see a zero, that means it is missing! Each Friday I check to see if they submitted Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday word sorts, and their 2 math assignments on Front Row. If they completed it all, they will get a punch on their card, 10 punches on their card leads to some great class coupons. 

If I didn’t see any homework at all from your child this week, I sent you an email. 

One more side note, if you fail to do Tuesdays sort, for example, do it Wednesday night and it will count for the week! Just get them all done!

Word Study Homework for Thursday: Use the sort you already cut out (from Monday’s Blog post), pick 6 words to create a sentence. Now pick one of these options: 

Write your sentences on your printed homework. Each sentence must contain at least 5 words. Underline your spelling word!
OR
Click on the Homework tab, scroll to “Homework E-Submission”, scroll down to “Thursday Word Sort”. Type in your name, date, sort number, then type your sentences!

Math Homework: This week they have two assignments that need to be completed sometime during the week, before Friday. They need to log onto Front Row Ed, click on assigned practice, then complete assignment #8 and #9. Once those two are complete for the week, they are done with Front Row Homework. (They may be done with this if they completed it previously this week, awesome!) 

Fluency: Practice your flash cards OR do math magician OR print a fact sheet and work on it tonight!

Reading: Read 20 minutes tonight!


At the bottom of Thursday Night submission, there are boxes to check off to show accountability for reading, math facts, and word sort practice for the week, Have them check the boxes that apply.

Wednesday Word Sort: Use the sort you already cut out (from Monday’s Blog post), Place the headers at the top, and sort them according to their word pattern. 
Once you do this you have two options, PICK ONE!

Print the Homework, then write it how you sorted it, under “Writing Sort- Wednesday”
OR
Click on the Homework tab, scroll to “Homework E-Submission”, scroll down to “Wednesday Word Sort”. Type in your name, date, sort number, then type your words in the boxes. The first box is for the words from the first column you sorted. The second box is for the words from the second column, and so on….

Math Homework: This week they have two assignments that need to be completed sometime during the week, before Friday. They need to log onto Front Row ed, click on assigned practice, then complete assignment #8 and #9. Once those two are complete for the week, they are done with Front Row Homework. We are planning to go to Black Island Farms on September 21st. We will be leaving the school at 9:15 in the morning and returning at approximately 1:30. Each child will need a sack lunch, that does not need to be heated, and a water bottle. 

We will be walking through a farm, learning about vegetables, picking our own pumpkins and doing activities in a field so please dress your child in appropriate shoes that day. It is not a dress down day so the students will need to be in uniform. If your child has a red uniform shirt, please dress him/her in that color. 

Due to the high cost of transportation- we are asking, and pleading, for a $5 donation from each child. This needs to be paid to the office by September 15th. 
We can have parents meet us at the farm as chaperones. Parents will need to pay the office $3.50 by the 15th if they plan to attend. Also, please let me know if you will be attending.Please NO siblings!

For Mondays Homework please print out the above sort. Have your child cut it out, then sort it how they think it goes- tomorrow in class I will make sure they know how it is to be sorted. Once they’ve sorted it, place it in a baggie to keep it safe for the week’s use.
