Adding with regrouping

In math this week we are working on addition with regrouping. This concept is brand new to some of these kiddos! We are working hard in class to practice this concept. Working on this concept at home will help them out so much! On the homework menu they have the option to use IXL math.Have them complete and practice problems under 2nd grade-Addition G.3. Any extra practice they get is going to help them develop their math skills! Thanks for motivating your children to learn at home as well as at school!

FIeld Trip!

I just wanted to give you a heads up about a field trip we have planned. We will be visiting Black Island Farms in Syracuse on September 28th. This month we are learning about plants in science. This field trip will be a great extension to all we have learned over the month of September! We will learn about their crops and how they go from the ground to the store. We will also do a few other fun things like take a hayride through the farm with a stop at the pumpkin patch where each student gets to pick a pumpkin to take home! We look forward to this fun Plants unit in Science!

IXL Math and Spelling City

I have entered all of my kiddos into Spelling City and IXL Math. The username is your first initial, then last name @quest (no space). The password is rams. ex:acashin@quest. There are two specific students that have an exception to their username. I will notify these two students with a letter home on Tuesday. These websites will be utilized as homework options and will give your child great practice with math and spelling. Check the Homework tab for weekly specific assignments that align with our curriculum.
