DRAMA Club Online Ticket purchases!

Yay.  POQA has created an online link for parents to buy tickets for the Musical starting today, MAR. 22 2016, 1:30 PM – APR. 08 2016, 4:00 PM   AT THE PRE-SALE PRICE!

Show and Tell

The student’s have earned a reward! We have been working towards this class goal for a while. On Wednesday, March 23, they are allowed to bring something for Show and Tell. Live pets will not be allowed. If they forget, they will not be able to call home. They can tell us about it, or draw a picture of it instead. 

I am excited to see what they have chosen to bring!

Maps and Globes

In January we are learning all about Maps! As part of the unit, students will be tested at the end of the month on their own address. Please help your child memorize their address including: address, City, State and Zip code. 

We will have a lot of fun creating maps of our own as well as exploring Google Earth!

Parent Teacher Conference

Here at Quest we do Parent Teacher Conferences a little differently. Instead of meeting with everyone in two consecutive nights, we meet with a handful of students each month. This coming Thursday September 24, I will be meeting with a few families to celebrate and talk about students’ academics, behaviors and ways to improve 2nd grade skills. I will contact you when I would like to schedule. 

You are also welcome to contact me if you have concerns and you’d like to meet for that month. If there are any parents that would like to meet next week, please email me ASAP. I will be scheduling myself for that night very soon. 

In the meantime, watch for an email in the upcoming months from me, asking to meet with you. I look forward to celebrating all your children are doing in 2nd grade!


Special Visitor

We are learning about plants this month for science! We are going to do a lot of exciting things including having a Bee Keeper come visit our class. He will be visiting us Thursday September 10. He will be bringing in a clear observation hive with live honeybees and he will talk about the process of pollinating plants. The bees are completely contained and the students love to see them at work. If you are uncomfortable having your child in the classroom at this time, please let me know and I can arrange something/somewhere they can be for this period of time.

Our first few days have been a success! I have enjoyed getting to know you all! Parents, thank you for your generous school supply donations! Every bit helps make our classroom run successfully!

I am so excited for this week to finally start! Second grade is so much fun, I sure hope you will love it as much as I do!imgresI will post on this blog a few times a week, so be sure to “subscribe” to our blog. You can do this by clicking on the link on the right side menu.
