We get to participate in a reading contest next week!

Farm Bureau Financial Services in encouraging kids to read! The student that has the highest amount of reading minutes in the elementary (K-5), will win a bike! I have attached the permission slip for you to print at home, just in case your child’s got lost in the shuffle. All permission slips are needed in order to participate for the prize. Those that bring in their permission slips this week, will be given a “Daily Reading Log” next Monday to keep track of reading minutes.
Only the minutes read during the week of February 29- March 5 will count!

We are in need of helpers for our Holiday Party in December! The party will be December 18, 10:00- 1:00

We also need some large tubs to use at the party! We’ll get them a little dirty, but return them sparkly clean! Maybe something like this.

I just wanted to let you all know that I will be out of town the week of November 30- December 4. If you have any questions or problems, please check with the office. I have a fabulous Sub lined up and students will still have a busy week of learning in school. I will return December 7.

Cooking club is FULL! We had a huge response, which makes me very excited! If the club is successful and things go well, I’d love to offer a second session in the Spring for students who haven’t had a chance to be in it. I will let you know how things go! Thanks for your interest in our fun 2nd grade Cooking Club!!

The Halloween Party will be next Friday, Oct 30 at Noon! We are excited to party! In order for students to eat food in class we need to get a Food authorization form signed from you. Please take a minute and sign the permission slip!

Quest Families,

We will have our Halloween parade on Friday, October 30, which is a short day. Quest families are welcome to come watch their children parade through the Q2 gym from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Though only Kindergarten through 6th Grade students will participate in the parade, Jr. High students are welcome to wear costumes as well (or students could choose to treat this day as a free dress down day).

Please note that costumes should be modest and without blood or gore. Though students may paint their faces, masks and weapons are not allowed. Anything that depicts violence is banned (knives, guns, swords, spears, etc.). If you have questions about costume accessories, please contact us. Just to reiterate, no blood, either depicted on the costume or in makeup, is allowed. 

We have a lot of great boxes for our STEM project next month! Thanks for bringing them in, we don’t need anymore. 

We are in need a few boxes! If you have them, can we please use them for a STEM project planned for November? Smaller boxes are needed such as cereal, jewelry and Shoe boxes.  Start bringing them in if you have them!
