Almost Time!

Parents,

I appreciate those of you who were able to come in and meet with me at Back to School Night last night! I am so excited to have each of your students in my class and can’t wait to get to know them better! If you were not able to make it, here are the basics I tried to cover with everyone. (I might have missed someone because it got really busy at some points of the night)
1. Please read my class disclosure and sign electronically under the parent info tab on my blog as soon as possible. (We have 12 of 21 students signed so far)
2. We will use Class DoJo for behavior monitoring. (Expect your log ins and a form explaining it coming home soon!)
3. We will have a brown Bag assignment coming home on Thursday. (Watch for it)
4. They changed our lunch grouping and another teacher will be joining our class now so we don’t have to split our class after all! (Yeah!)

Next: The administration sent out an email today so please look for it! It was about lunch and I had a conversation about lunches with a couple parents and things have changed in just the last few days so here is the email:

Quest Families,

There has been a change in our lunch program as our purchasing web host went out of business a few days ago. To order lunch for your students, please visit either office and purchase a lunch card. Each card is worth 10 lunches and costs $29 for students in grades 1-8 and $34.50 for 9th graders. Students receiving reduced lunch will pay $4 and students who qualify for free lunch will receive a lunch card from the lunch manager. Homeroom teachers will keep track of the lunch cards for students to reduce the chance of them being lost. Each morning, the teacher will take a lunch count and then send students’ cards to the lunchroom to ensure that the correct number of lunches are prepared. At the end of each day, our lunch managers will return the cards to the appropriate homeroom teacher. We hope to have a new method for purchasing school lunch sometime in September or October. At that time, you’ll be able to preorder lunch online again. Thank you so much for being patient while we work through this set back.

Quest Administration

Thanks again for all you do to support our school! I look forward to getting to know you and your students really well!
