Happy October!

Today we introduced the October Project. Below is the link to the Trick or Reading description. This is an at home project and plan based on the poster report being due October 27th and the pumpkin being to school the morning of October 30th. Please DO NOT feel like you have to spend a lot of money on this project. Please use things you already have around the house and DO NOT feel like you have to buy a costume for this project. Costumes are optional. Books must be approved before starting your project.  Most of the kids picked their books today at school. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Next, don’t forget to submit homework.

Finally, talk to your students about the toothpaste activity we did today. It was about once we say mean things we can’t take them back and we can’t unhurt feelings. We talked about how we should be using nice and encouraging words rather than mean, hurtful and discouraging words. We are trying to “Be the Good” or “Heroes”  rather than being the “villains” who are only happy when others are feeling hurt or sad. It was a very touching lesson and one I hope our kids will take to heart.

Thanks for all your help and again, please let me know if there is anything I can do to help your student. Have a great weekend!
