Classroom Things

First, we are running low on copy paper so if you happen to see a good deal on copy paper and would be willing to donate a ream to our class we would greatly appreciate it!

We are closing in on the end of third quarter. Please make sure that your students have all of their missing work turned in ASAP! I have given them missing work reports and if they are missing something they need to get that work from on their own time. (Not coming and asking for it in the middle of a lesson for example.) You can email me if they need to come before school.

Next, it has been a while since we have had an issue that I need support from home on but today is one of those days again. Before school we have had some students who, in spite of being asked repeatedly, think they can wander and swing their backpacks, coats, arms, legs and lunch boxes around. A few times a kid has been “accidentally” hit however I no longer think it is an accident when it has happened with the same kids multiple times. Please discuss this issue with your kiddos and see if talking about why this is inappropriate can help reduce this issue before school and at lunch. Of course we will continue to work on this at school as well. Before school and at lunch the expectation is once excused or the whistle is blown, kids need to be in line up order quietly waiting.

Also, we are continuing to work on being kind and polite around others. We are specifically working on if someone asks you to “please stop doing that”, to say okay and stop right away. This has been an issue with whistling, talking out, tapping and/or making noises. This issue seems to go in waves but seems to be back on the rise the last couple days.

Thanks again for all your support! I love teaching these energetic, fun, smart, funny kiddos! Please let me know if there is anything specific that I can help you child with.
