Sept. 8th Weekly Homework

Parents,

First, Please Make sure your students are doing 20 minutes of reading at least 5 day a week. Also, don’t forget to submit your homework log on the blog every Thursday night or Friday morning.

Next, I have touched base with Ten marks and have found what I believe will work for homework. I can now see what questions are getting assigned. You can see what questions your student missed by going to reports and then click on assignment details. If your student has a hard time understanding what to do in the question, click on the video. Also there are three hints allowed per assignment. I encourage the students to use this if they are unsure of their answer. It reports to me who is using the videos and hints so that will help me know who is needing that extra assistance. There will be two to three math assignments per week and I will leave them open for two days each so you have a little wiggle room with when to get them done. (I know practices, classes and family activities often happen and push homework off but please follow through with the kids getting homework done on time!) I will not post the assignment until the students have had the lesson at school to try to help with not getting students lost in the concept. The first one for the week was the lesson we had last week so it is open already. It will be open until Tuesday night.

The spelling groups have been assigned and the links to the words for the week will be under the “Words Their Way” tab Monday morning along with the groups. Please verify that your student prints off the correct set of words for their group. (If you don’t have a printer have them write their words on a piece of paper and cut them apart to make their own sort set for the week.) They will pick which sort to do for the night then glue their sorts in their notebooks on Thursday nights. Notebooks should come back to school every Friday.

Please let me know if you have any questions about homework.
