Building Everyone Up!

We have had a much more positive classroom the last month or so but a couple of issues have been arising.

First, please reinforce with your kids that when someone politely asks them stop doing something (talking, humming, tapping their pencil, touching their desk, etc.) to be kind and stop.

Next, I am working on getting the class to quiet down, and today was much better, but we have a few students who really feel they need it quieter and some of our friends are really just not understanding that need.

Finally, please reinforce that being kind to everyone is the expectation. Even if we aren’t friends with someone, it is not okay to put others down and say hurtful thing to or about them.

I tell my students that my first priority is to teach them and teaching them to be a good person is at the top of my list. I want everyone to feel safe at school and I feel that this being reinforced from home would go a long way! (I know that everyone already does this but reinforcing it now when some friends are struggling with this would be very helpful to all of us!)
