Happy Friday!

We have finished our first week of Sage testing! 18 more school days until Summer! Time is going so fast!

First, if you haven’t already, please remember to submit homework on the blog.

Next, the kids have been learning a lot with the Hill Air Force Base volunteers coming and teaching them coding twice a week. We have also been talking about connections that we make between our reading and learning to the real world. They are in the beginning stages of actually writing code to teach a computer what to do or how to run an app! This is a very exciting things that we are getting to learn first hand!  I challenged the kids to find a connection between coding and something that they have learned. They have learned about loops, algorithms, abstractions, functions, etc. If they reply to this post with a connection to coding they have seen or heard in the real world I will give them 5 extra credit points in technology. It can come from something they have heard in a movie or TV show. It could be something they have read or something they have seen.

The “buy one get one free” book fair starts Monday! Now is a great time to stock up on books to read for the summer!

Also, remember that our school carnival is next Friday night from 5-8 at the school. Hope to see you all there!

Thanks for sending your kids to school well rested and with full bellies! It really helps with their concentration during this end of year testing! Hang in there… It’s almost over!
