Homework, Picture Day and more.

Parents,
First, Picture day is this Wednesday. Next, Reading 20 minutes per night starts today. Please check my homework tab for the link to record your student’s reading time. Just submit the homework reading report once per week on either Thursday night or Friday night.  Also, I have had a couple parents who are working on pick up routines with their kids. As we are now 3 days into the school year you can see how crazy the parking lot is after school. Please make a pick up plan with your kids and if something is changing in the plan after dropping the kids off, email me or call the office so I can let them know. It is helpful to have a specific place for any kids you are picking up to meet and wait. (Kids are asked to meet outside of the building as all adults go out for parking lot duty.) If they are waiting on the west side of the lot it helps with less kids having to chase cars or parents missing their kids as they are waved forward. They would also be in the shade on that side of the parking lot. I stand on the west side of the lot by the last cross walk. If you want them to stay near me, let me know. We really do appreciate your patience while everyone figures out the parking lot and what will work best for them. Staggering your time might help you with less wait time at the parking lot. Planning on getting there at 3:15-3:20 instead of 3:00 would significantly reduce your wait time. We do understand the frustration and do not wish to make anything harder on anyone. The system works best when everyone follows the same rules. 🙂 Thank you for your support and I have loved these first 3 days with your kids!
