Dear Students and Parents,
The end of each school year is bittersweet, and this year especially. The last five months have been both rewarding and challenging for me. Your children have taught me so much. I have come to love and appreciate each one of them for their unique talents and gifts. I’ve loved watching them learn and grow. It’s a special thing to witness a child finally “get it.” I am blessed to get to see that every day. Thank you for sharing your amazing, smart, energetic, fun, gifted, unique, spirited children with me. I am going to miss them more than I can say!
I have made the decision not to return to Quest next year. This was a very hard decision. I am going to miss all of the dear friends I made in my time at Quest. While I am sad, I am also very excited to get to spend more time with my own two children. I feel this is the most important thing for my family right now.
Please keep in touch! I want to hear how your child is doing! Please give them hug from me!

Dear Students,
I am so proud of you! You’ve worked so hard for the past two months and today it totally paid off! You did such a wonderful job in our play! I was proud of the way you sang and said you parts with expression! YOU ARE AMAZING!!!!
I can’t believe it’s already the last week of school! It’s been a wonderful 5 months with your sweet kids!

Field Day Information
Field Day wil be Thursday, May 24th. This year each grade is in charge of activities for their students. Space is limited at Quest, so 3rd grade will be having our field day at Stonefield Park in West Haven. The address is 4529 S 4700 W. It is about .8 of a mile away from Quest Academy.
We will need all parents to drop of their students at the park between 8:00 and 8:30. While there, we will be doing a rotation of several super fun activities. Please wear our class tie-dyed t-shirts and clothing that can get wet. At the end of field day, we are tentatively going to have a visit from the fire department. They will spray us with the fire hose. We will then walk back, at 11:30, to Quest for recess, lunch, and pick-up.
Please make sure you have filled out BOTH the Google Doc found here and the paper permission slip found below.
Field Day 2018
Dear Parents,
Our class play is quickly approaching and we are so excited! Here are a few important reminders:
- I am asking that YOU provide your child’s costume. If for some reason you are unable to do this, please let me know ASAP so I can make other arrangements.
- Costumes should be brought to school no later than THURSDAY.
- Our dress rehearsal will be Friday morning beginning at 8:45am.
- Our play performance will be Wednesday, May 23rd at 2:00pm. Please plan to arrive early.
I’m looking for parent volunteers for a few things:
- I need a couple of volunteers who would be willing to record our play performance and then send it to me or burn it on a DVD and get it to me.
- I need a few volunteers who would be willing to come at 1:30 on Wednesday to set up chairs for the play.
Please let me know if you’d be willing or able to help with one or both of these things.
Only 2 WEEKS left of school! I can’t believe it! Please mark your calendars for all the exciting things happening!

Reminders:
– After a week off, we will finish up SAGE testing with the math test on Monday and Tuesday. You can help your child do their very best by making sure they get a good night’s rest, eat a nutritious breakfast, and arrive to school on time on SAGE testing days. This is a great opportunity for students to celebrate all they have learned this year!
– We are practicing our class play in earnest. Students are so excited! We will be doing all preparations in class, but I’m asking that you help your student come up with a SIMPLE costume for their part. If you have questions about this, please let me know. Students’ costumes need to be brought to school no later than Thursday, May 17th. Here are some simple costume ideas (these are only ideas, please feel free to do what works best for you!):
Narrators – Dress or Dress Shirt and Slacks
Cinderella – Worn out clothes with rags tucked in (for beginning), business wear (for end)
Friends – Clothes kids or teenagers would play in
Stella and Star – Clothes kids would play in + Silly, elaborate hat of some kind
Mom and Dad – Clothes adults would wear
Fairy Godmother – Dress, wings, wand
Fairy Godfather, Fairy Goduncle, Fairy Godcousin – Capes or cloaks, wand
Rat and Mouse – grey or brown clothes, ears, tail
Bird – beak, wings
Prince Reginald – crown, slacks and dress shirt
Advisors – slacks and dress shirt
Glass Tablet – cardboard tablet “overalls”
Cell Phone – cardboard cell phone “overalls”
Laptop – cardboard laptop “overalls”
Staff – black slacks and button up shirt
Bettina – wild clothes, curlers, bathrobe

This Week in Math:
Students will be celebrating all they’ve learned this year by taking the SAGE test!
This Week in Language Arts:
Students will be researching the life cycle and habitats of butterflies. They will using Google Slides to share the information they’ve learned through their research. We are excitedly watching our caterpillars!
This year Field Day will be done separately for each grade level. Field Day will be the morning of Thursday, May 24th. We are going to have so much fun!!!! Our third grade team has planned many fun activities for students. We need help from parents to make this day a success! Please read and fill out this permission slip carefully. More details will be coming soon.
I am looking for a parent who would be willing to run our class store on Friday starting at 12:30. It usually takes 45 minutes to an hour. If you’d be available and like to help, please shoot me an e-mail to let me know. Thanks so much!
