MEET MRS. SLAUGH
I love everything about teaching. My favorite part is watching the children’s face light up when they master a new skill. I love the light bulb moments. I feel like magic is in the air while I am teaching. It is so neat to watch the children learn new reading strategies, memorize their math facts and start writing in cursive…the list could go on and on!
I received a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education from Weber State University and I am currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Education from Weber State University. A few years ago I received two awards, Teacher of the Year 2005, sponsored by Sam’s Club and Who’s Who Of America’s Teachers 2004-5. I am currently working with the Weber School District Technology Department. It has been a wonderful experience! It has given me the opportunity to integrate technology into our everyday lessons. Not only do I love it, but the kids do too! They will become tech savvy! You will be impressed to see what your child will be able to do by the end of the year.
I believe that a strong parent/teacher team working towards the same goal is essential in a 3RD grader’s academic development. Communication is one of the keys to success, so feel free to e-mail me anytime.
I got married on June 1, 2002 to a wonderful man, who supports me and my job. He understands that my students are my children and he helps out in many ways. Family is also so important to me! In fact, I live next door to my family. They are my best friends. It is so nice to still be close to them.
I am blessed to have 2 healthy beautiful babes! A 3 year old boy and a 2 year old girl! Check them out!
