Our very own “Garfield” was chosen at the assembly today to entertain us with some other kids during one of the Magic Tricks. Check him out! Good Job! The assembly was fun and reminded us how important it is to READ and the READING is Magic!

I just added a page at the top to help the children with their Count By’s – I will be adding more Multiplication help to it as we teach it!

Just a note to let you know that our Homework will be changing a bit starting next week.   Mainly, because we will be working hard on MEMORIZING our Multiplication Facts.   Instead of a Monthly Calendar, we will also be switching to a Weekly One – It will work as an organizer for you and your child!

Guess what?   Our name “Mrs. Slaugh’s and Mrs. Westergard’s  3rd Grade Class   West Haven Elementary -2009” will be carried to Mars on a Microchip carried by NASA’s Mars Science Laboratory Rover!  

We are so excited, we were told at Astro Camp that it will arrive in 2012!

Today we were all (3rd graders) given  a free dictionary donated to us from the Rotary CLub!   You should have saw the excitement in the kids’ they were thrilled to get them!   My students told me they were going to read their new dictionary, during their 20 minutes of reading tonight!   They always put a smile on my face!
