Once upon a time…
The Turkey Shot Out of the Oven
We read the poem The Turkey Shot Out of the Oven By: Jack Prelutsky
Then we enjoyed some delicious Turkey!
Hope you all have a Fabulous Thanksgiving Holiday!
The Great Kapok Tree
Throughout our wonderful journey of Research Workshop…the children have been very serious about doing some sort of play that would tell the world how much the Rain Forest meant to them! They wanted to get their VOICE HEARD…so this is what we came up with!
Save the RAINFORESTS!!!
Happy Watching!
PS. This is a great book to read with your class…it is great for teaching INFERRING!
A Quiet Place
This is one of my favorite books to start the school year off! Not only do I love the illustrations, but I love thinking of the character in the story!
Day 2 of school and I am trying to teach love of reading to my sweet class! I always model to them how important books are to me and how they are dear to my heart! Every book is my favorite book!
In this text, I love how the character has a wild imagination with great describing words. It really is a beautiful book! This book is about how everyone needs a QUIET PlACE sometimes- rather to just think or to read…so after we read it we TURNed and TaLked about where OUR QuiEt PlaCe would be! The discussions were so vivid! I loved it!
Then we concluded with the question….Where Do GOOD Readers READ???
and this is what our FABULOUS students came up with!
Kristen Crow
Wow! Were we blessed today! We all got to meet a famous author! Kristen Crow came to our School with an amazing presentation on the process of writing a book. She had the children’s attention the whole time, with an amazing ppt and musical parts! Her books were also great! I bought one for my children at home. If you have not heard of her, check out her books, they are great for school and home! The cool thing is she lives in Layton, Utah!
