We Can Change the World with our own Two Hands
The Can Do Kids did such a fabulous job on this Art Project. We are entering these Earth Day projects in the Ogden Nature Center Art Contest. Good Luck to each of you! I know I am bias, but I absolutely love all of these! They give out Grand Prize, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards. These artistic projects will be displayed in the Ogden Nature Center from April 16th to June 3rd 2011. The winners will be invited to an awards program on Earth Day April 16 at 10 am.
Primary Vote Results
First of all, I have to say, I was very impressed with everyone’s speeches. Really, each candidate did Fabulous. They really spoke right to the Citizens of Can Do City (great eye contact), they had amazing speeches and spoke from their heart. I was SOOOOOOOO glad that I did not have to vote! Each one of the candidates would have represented our City well. I want to congratulate all of you that ran and put in the effort in preparing a speech for today. You are all so AWESOME and I am so PROUD of each of you! I am so thankful that we have such an incredible class.
After tallying the votes, we had a 2 way tie for 3rd place-which means we will have 4 people on our ballots tomorrow.
Daxton, Justice, Kylee and Sage congrats on making it to the final election and good luck tomorrow with your final speech!

Today citizens of “Can Do City” nominated whom they felt would represent our city well, and be a FABULOUS Mayor!

Reading Workshop Vid
Every day Reading Workshop in our class is so amazing. (and, no two days are ever alike) I group the kids according to what Reading Strategy or Skill they need to improve on. Sometimes they work in goups of like 6, sometimes they work with partners. The reading goals are not always grouped, sometimes they are individual. It all depends on what I observe while reading with them. I love to work in small groups, but I also love to conference with them individually. This video, is just a peak of what was happening yesterday… some people were working on finished projects, others were silent reading. I have a parent volunteer that comes to work with my Fluency Goal group. They work on Read Naturally out in the hall. The best part about Reading Workshop, is all the great Vocabulary terms that they use while reading, discussing and sharing. I am so proud of all my Can Do Kids!
