First…Way to go Kindergarten! You all did awesome on the cookie dough fundraiser for Quest Academy! Well done!!

Just a reminder that homework is due tomorrow Friday September 22. Please review this weeks sight words and keep reading! Make sure you are practicing your flashcards and/or baggie books! Practice Practice Practice!! 

This months Scholastic Book Orders are due by September 28th. I will submit the order no later than September 29th. This will ensure that the orders are here well before Halloween. Thank you for your orders. Last month I was able to add to our listening library! Thank you much!!

Hello All!
I have to say…I have the best kindergarteners in the Universe! I had most everyone return their homework…finished! Wow! It was amazing! I also love love love that 90% of them are bringing their homework/takehome folder back and forth each day! Let’s try and make it 100%! 

Also, as the flashcards and baggie books start to come home in their folders, please make sure that after you practice them at home they return each day in the homework folders. I want them to practice at home but we also practice them here at school each day. 😉

This week for homework I am sending home another writing packet. This includes their name, letter practice, and tracing skills. I want them working on how to hold and control their pencil or writing tool (we call it a writing tool because sometimes we use markers, colored pencils or crayons). Please make sure when they are working on their homework they are holding their “writing tool” correctly. If they are not say “pencil check” and they should correct how they are holding it. 
Remember…* 20 minutes of reading each night
                    * No more than 10 minutes a night on homework 😉

Our hearts go out to all those in Texas who have been affected by Hurricane Harvey. In an effort to provide some relief, this Friday will be a dollar dress down day. All donations will go to victims of the Hurricane.

We are sending homework home today. We will be printing the homework for the first few weeks only because we are working on our names and obviously everyones is different. In a few weeks we will be posting it on the blog for you to print off at home. Remember to log your 20 minutes of reading each night and only spend 10 minutes per night doing homework.
