My 529 Plan
August 25, 2023

Week of August 21st – 24th
August 20, 2023
I am very excited for our upcoming week of school! We will be starting our math and ELA curriculum. Along with this, we will be working on our diagnostics for the start of the year! This will help give me feedback to see exactly where your student is currently at in their learning. The diagnostics will also show us how much they grow this school year!
What will we be working on this week?
Math: We will be starting our first math unit this week. We will be reviewing 2nd grade materials including: writing three-digit numbers in word form and expanded form, comparing three-digit numbers, and adding three-digit numbers. This will give me an idea of what your child knows before we jump into 3rd grade standards. We will also be taking our I-Ready Math Diagnostics over the course of the week.
ELA: This week we will be working on Week 1 in our Wonders program. Below is an outline of what we are learning in class. Out of the listed skills and strategies we’ll focus on asking and answering questions about text features and identifying the main idea! Along with this, we will be working on the I-Ready ELA Diagnostic over this week.

Information to Note: The office is still talking class donations if you have not had a chance to do this! I am also always taking donations of small toys, stickers, etc. for the class store that we will have each semester!
Upcoming: We have our first full day on Monday, so school will get out at 3:10! Thursday we have a short day (school gets out at 1:10) and Friday we will not have school!

I am so excited to meet all the students in my class this year! We’re going to have a great time together and learn a lot of fun things. I have so many things that I am already looking forward to for this upcoming school year! I will see you at Back to School Night on August 14th, and then on the First Day of School, August 16th! The first three days are are short days with early dismissal.

Food Permission Form: This is a blanket food permission form for the entire school year. The food items on this list are ones we have used regularly in the past for class parties and for math, science, and ELA lessons. Please check all items that your child can have. There is a box for substitution suggests if your child cannot have items on the list. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd7zXsox1VwtKVVTFoHIQkkhxXTiuDtpWcvjCUM4VdgXSE8PQ/viewform?usp=sf_link
Supply List: I am asking for money donations in the amount of $30.00 instead of you buying your child’s supplies. I love doing this to make sure that the students have all the supplies they need and parent’s do not have to go and search for a long list of items! Due to the wide range of preference with headphones, this is the only item that I do not buy for all students. Please send those with your child on the first day of school. To see what your $30.00 will cover click on the class supply list under the Parent Information tab above. Payments may be made on Quest’s website by clicking “Current Families,” then “Online Payments.” Enter my name and donation amount. You may also use the following link. ONLINE PAYMENTS
