This Week at Quest!

Quest Families,

SAGE Interim testing will start next week. These practice tests will help prepare students for the end of level SAGE tests in April, provide teachers will information to direct their instruction for the remainder of the year, and help familiarize students with the tools and content of this new computerized test. Testing will continue through December. Thanks.

This Week at Quest!

Quest Families,

Our Halloween parade and parities were a great success! Thanks for coming to watch and for volunteering that day. We sure appreciate all our Quest families!

Remember that POQA is sponsoring the Family Skate Night this Friday from 5:00PM to 9:00PM at the Layton Classic Fun Center.

Also, feel free to send your child with appropriate outerwear, as the temperature has gotten colder.

In keeping with Quest’s wellness policy, please remember that sodas are not allowed at school. Specifically, sodas have been brought during lunchtime.

Thanks for all you do. Have a great week!

This Week at Quest!

Quest Families,

Just a reminder that SEP conferences are tomorrow from 3:30PM to 5:30PM. Though teachers are contacting parents with whom they need to meet, you are more than welcome to contact them if there are any concerns you’d like to discuss. If their schedule is full, I’m sure they’d be willing to meet outside the scheduled conference times. Please note that SEP forms will be coming out this week and everything should be uploaded to access your child’s most current grades in ASPIRE.

Friday is our Halloween parade, as well as a short day (we’re out at 1:00PM). Please remember that all costumes should be modest (not revealing) and free of blood/gore. Please leave masks at home, as well as any weapons associated with (or not associated with) your child’s costume. Administration and office staff will ask students to call home to change if their costumes are deemed inappropriate. Remember, you’re more than welcome to come watch your child (kindergarten through 6th) parade through the Q2 gym in their costume from 9:00AM to 10:00AM.

Our lost and found overfloweth. Feel free to stop by this week if your child is missing any items. We will be donating everything that is left over after Friday.

Our next Board meeting is Tuesday, November 10 at 6:00PM in the Q1 PC Lab (the lab just to the right as you enter Q1). Please note that Board meetings are the second Tuesday each month, and the public is always invited. At this upcoming meeting, we will discuss SAGE scores and compare Quest to the surrounding schools.

Thanks for all you do and have a wonderful, safe Halloween!

Love,
Quest Administration

This Week at Quest!

Quest Families,

Just as we did last year, we’ll have a Halloween parade on Friday, October 31, which is a short day. Quest families are welcome to come watch their children parade through the Q2 gym from 9:00AM to 10:00AM. Though only Kindergarten through 6th Grade students will participate in the parade, Jr. High students are welcome to wear costumes as well (or, students could choose to treat this day as a free dress down day). Notice that this is different from last year. Please note that costumes should be modest and without blood and gore. Though students may paint their faces, masks and weapons are not allowed. Anything that depicts violence is banned (knives, guns, swords, spears, etc.). If you have questions about costume accessories, please contact us. The theme for this year’s costumes–if you choose to participate–is characters from books. Please note that this is just a suggestion and students are welcome to wear any costume that follows the above guidelines. Just to reiterate, no blood, either depicted on the costume or in makeup, is allowed.

After the parade, Kindergarten through 5th grade will have classroom parties. Though treats are allowed, parent permission is still needed. These treats must be planned by the teacher/room parent and store bought. Permission slips will be sent home a week before the party so everyone is aware of specific items being served.

SCHOOL WILL NOT HELD FOR KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS ON MONDAY, OCT. 27. Kindergarten teachers will use this time to meet with individual students and their parents for SEP conferences. Teachers will contact you personally for specific appointment times.

Thanks for all you do.

This Week at Quest!

Quest Families,

Recently a Quest student suffered the loss of a parent.  We would like to help this family out by having an additional dollar dress down day this Thursday, October 23rd.  Note, donations will go directly to the family.  This event is not included in the POQA 10.00 dress down buy out. If you chose to participate, please send a dollar with your child on Thursday.  Money will be collected in the classroom.

Thank you,
Quest Administration
