Astro Class
Astro class is an absolute BLAST…off! Along with some basic astronaut training, we will be building the sensor “guts” of a satellite and performing experiments with it in the classroom and on the ground. We learn about planets, our sun, current NASA missions, future planned NASA missions, current space news, and build and LAUNCH ROCKETS!
Each year, members of the Astro Class have the opportunity to participate in our community space education event called Quest Under the S.S.T.A.R.S., now with a scale model of the solar system installed across 5.2 miles of exercise trails in the city of West Haven. Students present projects they have created, special NASA guest speakers entertain the audience, and there is always some kind of extra special surprise. I can’t wait to see what surprises wait for us this year!
