Online Games

I have had lots of students wanting to play ABCMouse and Prodigy at home, which is awesome! If you need help logging your student into either one of these online games, here is what you need!

abc-mouse1
The ABCMouse login is jferrin@questac.org and the password is Questrams1 (with a capital Q). All your students are under the same login, then they  just find their name as the user to play with. If they accidentally sign into another student’s account, just click switch user and find their correct login.

For Prodigy, all your students have different logins. I will attach a document here for you to look up your student’s prodigy account information. If there is a capital, you do need to put it in as a capital letter.

Homework (October 2-6)

homework-clipart-holiday-homework-clipart-i1

This week we have:
1. Math packets
2. Reading
3. Practicing our math timings.
I will hopefully be sending home baggie books on Monday for you to read each night and bring back. I am still trying to figure out which level books to send home with your students to start. (Thanks for your patience.)

Extra Practice: Read the list of high-frequency words. These are words your first graders should know by the end of first grade. They need to be able to immediately say the word and not have to sound it out. The more practice they have the better! I have a list of fun ways to practice the words, as well as, the list of words under the homework tab.

Behavior Trackers

Starting October 1st, I will be keeping monthly behavior trackers for each of your students for you to see how they are behaving in my class. I have had a couple students erase their behavior before they get home to show parents. Please make sure to check behavior each night and see how your student is doing. If they are given something other than a smiley face, or star, please talk with them about why they got it and what they can do to do better the next day. Thanks so much!

Homework (September 18-22)

homework-clipart-holiday-homework-clipart-i1
This week for homework your students have their weekly math packet, as well as, 20 minutes of reading each night.

I have had lots of students who aren’t doing their reading. (or at least I’m not receiving anything that says they are reading.) Please have your students read 20 minutes each night. Then return a reading log to me by the end of the week, or fill out the google form. (Both are on my blog.)

Also, if you haven’t started, please practice math timings with your students. I uploaded the file onto my blog (4 posts down). If you put them in sheet protectors and have your student use a dry erase marker, they will last longer. Also, I have a form that shows you what timings your student is on. Everyone is currently on 2’s.
