Painting

Both AM and PM Kindergarteners will be painting Thursday. Please ensure they bring a shirt to paint in. They will be allowed to change into it at school.

This has been planned by some wonderful parents! It is last minute and I haven’t told your Kinder yet 🙂

Thanks!

Field Day — This Friday!

Kindergarten – please wear a red shirt!
All Kinders will begin the day at 8:30. Plan to stay until 1:00.
WEAR SUNSCREEN!
BRING A HAT!
Parents are welcome to stay for the day.
Please bring a brown bag lunch!

The main idea for field day is working together to accomplish something (team work).

We will have 6 25-minute rotations and a 45 minute lunch break/free time with 5 minutes in between each rotation. We will start the 1st rotation at 9:00am. That gets us done by 12:45pm to have a treat before going home. They will be rotating through these by grade with their classes, so we need teachers with their classes.

We have made a “rainout” schedule for holding field day inside the building as well.

#1 is the Triathlon which Kathi Deem is in charge of. If you are available to help with this event, please send me an email!

#2 is Human Chess for grades 2-5 and Human Checkers for grades K-1

#3 is Hula Hoop and trust activities like Human Chairs.

#4 is Backwards Charades

#5 is called All In which is a rope circle activity

#6 are blindfold activities called Which Shape and Lead the Herd

Unfortunately, I will not be at Quest this last Friday. We have some amazing people who will be here to spend the last day with your Kinder.

Change!

Ah! My apologies! I wrote down the shirt color for 1st grade! POQA has asked that Kindergarten wear RED shirts on field day, not orange. (Orange is for 1st!)

Sorry about that!

Homework has been updated on SIS. I feel there might have been a time last week where I checked homework, but it was not properly marked off on the paper copy I use to update SIS. If you find an error, please email me!

Grades will be locked next Monday.

Mrs. Richin’s class will be enjoying a lunch/snack Tuesday in the cafeteria. Due to a miscommunication, my class will NOT be joining. Please do not send food with your Kinder.

PLEASE make sure your Kinder brings a backpack this Friday. I will be sending home most of their work!

Take time to check the Quest Calendar. There are some fun events during the school day! The first grade opera, the talent show to name a few 🙂

POQA has requested that Kindergarten wear RED shirts on Field Day, the last day of school. (sorry! earlier I did say orange!)

The warm weather is making our kiddos thirsty! If you would please send a water bottle to school it would help to cut down on trips to the water fountain!

8 more school days!

Reader’s Theater

This Thursday at 5:00 meet us in the Q2 gym!

There is plenty of room for extra family and friends!

It is free dress. Some kids want to add to their costume, some don’t. Im leaving it up them. We provide the headbands.

It should last 1.5 hours. Expect a little extra to be safe.

See you tomorrow!

More details about the carnival:
May 16th 5:30-8:00 pm

1st:  Raffle tickets went on sale this week and will continue before and after school for this week in the lobby.  A bag of pencils was sent home with each child complete with instructions. If your students didn’t get any pencils just have them stop by the raffle table before or after school. Kids are NOT to take tickets or money to their classrooms. Carnival tickets will go on sale between May 5th-15th.

2nd:  We are in need of A LOT of 2 litter pops for the ring toss game.  Please help by purchasing a couple on your next grocery trip and dropping them off to the Q1 office.  This is one of the kids’ favorite games and they love winning the pop!

3rd:  We are still in need of more prizes for the raffle.  If you have anything you would like to donate please drop small items off to the Q1 office.  For larger items please contact Kristen (khales@questac.org) to arrange for pickup.

4th:  If anyone is still in need of volunteer hours this event is a great way to get in a lot of hours.  If you are able to help with selling tickets or the night of the carnival please contact Tammy at Tammerlammer@msn.com.

Thank you in advance to everyone for helping make our school one of the best.  With everyone’s help we can create a fun and memorable carnival!
