A bright, yellow paper has been sent home! This paper is the “permission slip” for the take home books. Read and sign and then we will start sending home the paper books!
Ways to read with your Kinder:
–Point to each word, if it is a word your child can sound out and blend, have them try!
-Read the words to your child, pointing to each word
-Have your child sound the first sound, then you read the rest
-Read every other page
-Have your Kinder “read” the pictures. What is happening?
Questions to make the most out of each book:
-Where is the title?
-What was the book about?
-Who are the characters?
-What would happen next?
Read the book many, many times! If your Kinder reads it perfectly (even if its memorized!) send it back for a new one!
