Please take a moment to look at the Classroom Calendar for your child’s Star Student week. 

This sign up was at Meet the Teacher night, but if you do not see your Kinder’s name, please send me a message with a week that would work for your family and Ill put it on the calendar.

All grades are due this Friday, October 25.
Homework 1-6 will be included in this quarterly report card. Please check SIS for any missing assignments. I kindly ask that all make up work be turned in by this Thursday.

As discussed at conferences, Kindergarten will be graded on mastery of standards taught. If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email. All assessments and work will be sent home this Friday.

The link and information for IXL are provided in the IXL tab above. This website is a fantastic way to reinforce what is being learned in class. It is also a fantastic site that can be used to challenge your Kinder! I’m a big fan of this resource, and if your child completes all of the Kindergarten math our class will celebrate!

October 21-25

A bright, yellow paper has been sent home! This paper is the “permission slip” for the take home books. Read and sign and then we will start sending home the paper books!

Ways to read with your Kinder:

–Point to each word, if it is a word your child can sound out and blend, have them try!

-Read the words to your child, pointing to each word

-Have your child sound the first sound, then you read the rest

-Read every other page

-Have your Kinder “read” the pictures. What is happening?

Questions to make the most out of each book:

-Where is the title?

-What was the book about?

-Who are the characters?

-What would happen next?

Read the book many, many times! If your Kinder reads it perfectly (even if its memorized!) send it back for a new one!

No homework for the week of October 14-18! Enjoy time with your family!

NO SCHOOL for KINDERGARTEN ONLY THIS FRIDAY! All other grades will have a short day.

Homework has been posted. It will be due this Thursday – but if you need more time, feel free to turn it in Monday, October 14th. 

Next week is a short week. Quest will only have school on Monday and Tuesday. No school on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday for fall break.

Small books will be sent home beginning Monday, October 14th!! 

Conferences are still going on! I will happily work with your schedule. If next week works better for you, send me an email and we can plan a time.

Please dress for the weather and wear good running shoes!

Fall conferences for Kindergarten is a time for us to talk about how to make this first year a successful one for your Kinder. I will show you some assessments and discuss behavior in class, but I would like to give you the most time to talk about your child.
