The Week of October 25th

Important Dates:

  • Monday 25th @ 2:00 – Dressing our Apple Witches – Please let me know if you can help us out.
  • Friday 29th – Halloween Parade and Party – See below for details
  • Nov. 3rd-4th – Parent Teacher Conferences – See below for details
  • Nov. 5th – No School

HALLOWEEN PARTY – We will be having our Halloween Party on October 29th from 9:30ish to 11:20 (after the Halloween Parade). Third Grade is doing their party a little differently this year. Each class will be in charge of a game, craft, or art project. Our class was assigned an art project. I am looking for 4 helpers to come and teach this art project to all of the 3rd grade classes. You would be rotating to each 3rd grade class over the course of the morning. This means that you would not be with our class the whole time. I have the art project and all of the materials that you would need, so all you need to do is teach the students how to do it (it’s super easy and very cute). Please send me an email or Bloomz message if you can help us out that day.

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES – Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, November 3 and Thursday, November 4.  Please note: These will be early out days (1:00pm) and there will be no school on Friday (November 5). I look forward to meeting with you and your child to discuss their progress and goals. We will be meeting in-person in our classroom. If you prefer to hold your conference virtually, please type “Zoom” in the same slot after you add your child’s name. Please sign up by clicking the following link: Conference Sign-up Form

Math: Please remember to continue practicing multiplication facts with your third grader at home. You can find a cheap set of flash cards at the dollar store, you can print off your own online, or use index cards to create your own. No matter which flash cards you use, it is so important that your child has practice.

We will be starting lesson 9 this week. Below is the family letter from our math work book. On the second page of the letter, there is an activity to help students use place value to multiply. You are not required to do the activity, it’s just a suggestion if you’d like your child to practice at home.

ELA: This week we’re working on Unit 2 Week 2 in our Wonders book. Below is an outline of what we will be learning.
