Our first week of third grade was AMAZING!! We were busy getting to know each other, learned our classroom procedures, and our daily routines. We worked hard and starting using our flexible seating options. Just a reminder to subscribe to the blog and sign up for BLOOMZ if you have not done so yet.
Here are some other upcoming events this week.

Monday 8/27: First full day of school, STEM lab starts
Tuesday 8/28: Fundraising Assembly @ 9;00
Wednesday 8/29: School Pictures
Friday 8/31: Library Day (We had to change our library day this week because of the assembly)

Early release

Dollar Dress Down Day! (Students may wear dress down clothes if they bring a dollar. This is optional and students who choose not to participate will need to wear their school uniforms.)

Quest Spirit Night @ Clearfield Aquatic Center 7:30-9:30pm
Monday 9/3: No School! Labor Day!

*This week we will start our reading homework. I will send home the reading calendar for students to mark off their reading minutes. Please return the calendar on Friday, the 31st. We will start testing fluency in the next week or two, so please make sure that your child is reading at home!!
*We will start our math fluency homework after Labor Day.

Back To School Night!!!

Back to school night is August 17th from 5:30-7:30. We will be meeting every 30 minutes to talk about school policies and our classroom disclosure statement. Here is the schedule for the night:

Please pick a time that works best for you and your family. I will close the doors on the half hour to get started. Please plan accordingly! Welcome Back to School!!!!

Parents,
I am super excited for this new school year to start. Here are some things that you can do before Back to School Night to help you stay up to date on what will be happening in our class this year. I look forward to meeting all of you on Back to School Night!! Have a great summer!!!

1. Subscribe to our Class Blog!! Just look to your right and you will see a spot to enter your email address. After you enter your email address you will receive an email asking you to verify the email that you entered. PLEASE VERIFY YOUR EMAIL. You will not receive notifications from our blog unless you do this step.

2. Down load the app “Bloomz” on your smartphone. Below is a step by step guide on how to get hooked up to our class messaging system. I use Bloomz a lot!! I send notifications, text messages, and can easily communication with parents when I do not have my computer. Please sign up!!!

LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL!!!

This year has been amazing!! We have a lot going on this last week of school. Below is just a few of the things that we have going on this week.
Our last week schedule:
Monday – First Grade Patriotic Program
Tuesday – Miss Waddell’s Class Play
Wednesday – Mrs. Hamblin’s Class Play
Thursday – Field Day (Short day and Dress Down Day – See more information below)
Friday – 3rd – 5th Talent School – Yearbook Signing Day – Dress Down Day and Short Day – Last Day of School!
FIELD DAY INFORMATION
Field day is coming up on Thursday, May 24^th. This year each grade is in charge of the activities for their students. Space is limited at Quest, so 3^rd grade will be having our field day at Stonefield Park in West Haven. The address is 4529 S 4700 W, West Haven. It is about .8 of a mile from Quest Academy. We will need all parents to drop of their students at the park between 8:00 – 8:30. While there, we will be doing a rotation of super fun activities. Please wear our class tie dyed t-shirts and clothing that can get wet. At the end of field day, we are tentatively going to have a visit from the fire department who are going to spray us with the fire hose. We will then walk back, at 11:30, to Quest for recess, lunch, and pick-up. In order to have all of these fun activities we are going to need help from our excellent parents. We would love to have two parents per station to help and supervise. Please fill out the form below and send it in with your child on Monday.

10 More Days of School!!!! This is what we have happening this week!!! We will finish up our SAGE testing this week with math. Please check out the schedule below for dates and times. We also have our class play this week and everyone is invited. We will finish up our country report and, hopefully, present them to our class this week.

SAGE Testing Schedule:
SAGE Math Session #1- Monday, May 14th @ 9:30-10:15
SAGE Math Session #2- Tuesday, May 15th @ 12:45 – 1:15

**Class Play – Thursday, May 17th @ 2:00 in the Q1 Gym**
Dress Rehearsal – Wednesday, May 18th @ 9:00.
***All costumes need to be brought in on our dress rehearsal day. We want one day to practice with our costumes on before our show.

Reading:
* Please remember to read every night for at least 20 minutes
Math:
* Prodigy for every night on Monday and Thursday for 10-15 minutes. There is a Prodigy link on the right side bar of our blog. This week students will be working on time

FIELD DAY INFO!!!
This year Field Day will be done separately for each grade level. Field Day will be the morning of Thursday, May 24th. We are going to have so much fun!!!! Our third grade team has planned many fun activities for students. We need help from parents to make this day a success! Please read and fill out this permission slip carefully.
