ANNOUNCEMENTS

• Thank you to all the parents coming out to Parent Teacher Conferences.  I loved meeting with you to talk about your child.  If you did not get the chance to meet with me and would like to,  please email me and we can set up a time.
• For Math, we are still working on fractions
• In Language Arts, we will reading about the Iditarod and our essential question is: How can others inspire us?
• Here is the spelling and vocabulary list –  Unit 4 Week 5-Weekly Outline
• Our spelling pattern is working on the soft c and g sounds

 * Please remember to read every night for at least 20 minutes
Math:
  * Prodigy for every night on Monday and Thursday  for 10-15 minutes.  There is a Prodigy link on the right side bar of our blog.  This week students will be working on fractions.

• Valentines Day Card Exchange
• **We will be passing out Valentine’s Day cards on February 14th (before the Multiplication Madness Celebration).  We have 26 students in our class.  I prefer for the students not address the student’s names on the Valentine Cards.  It takes double the time to pass them out if they are addressed to each individual student in our class.  Please have your child just sign each of their cards.  Remember not to send candy with your cards.  You can bring anything else that is not edible.  WE WILL NOT BE MAKING VALENTINE’S DAY BOXES OR BAGS TO HOLD CARDS.  STUDENTS ARE WELCOME TO BRING BOXES OR BAGS FROM HOME.  I WILL HAVE PAPER SACKS TO GIVE THE STUDENTS THAT NEED SOMETHING.
• Multiplication Madness/Mastery Celebration @ 2:00

What’s Happening in Our Class this Week!

• Name badges must be worn at all times during the day.  Please make sure that your child has theirs with them.  
• In math we are working on MULTIPLICATION!!!  Multiplication is a huge part of third grade and it will require extra practice at home to master multiplication.  Students need to be practicing their multiplication facts at home or they will struggle to pass off  all of their facts.  You can invest in some cheap multiplication flash cards found at the dollar store, or you can print these ones off.  Just print them off, write the answer on the back and start quizzing your child.  Multiplication Flash Cards
