Donut Party
Third Grade won a donut party for being the grade that brought in the most canned food items for our school food drive. We just found out that this party will be on Dec. 1st. Please fill out the permission form below. Thanks!!!

The Week of November 27th-December 1st!
I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving break! As I have thought about the things I am thankful for, my amazing students were always at the top of my thankful list. Thank you for the amazing school year so far.
What’s Happening in Our Class this Week!!
* This week for spelling, we will work on words that have r-controlled vowels.
* * If you would like to have our spelling list, check out the homework tab. I have posted our spelling list there.
* In math we are working on MULTIPLICATION!!! Multiplication is a huge part of third grade and it will require extra practice at home to master multiplication. You can invest in some cheap multiplication flash cards found at the dollar store, or you can print these ones off. Just print them off, write the answer on the back and start quizzing your child. This week for spelling, we will work on words that have three consonant blends. They are: -scr, -spr, -spl, -str, -squ, and -thr,
In math we are working on finding the perimeter of quadrilaterals. We will be working on this for the next two weeks.

Reading:
- We are still collect cans for our food drive, so bring in those cans!!!
- Book Fair starts on Monday!!
- PTCs will be on Tuesday and Thursday, from 3:30-7:45. If you do not sign up I will sign up for you and then email you the time that we will meet.

- Our field trip is Thursday, Nov. 9th! We will be going to see Cinderella at Fremont High School. I am still missing a few permission forms. Please get it in ASAP. The buses will leave at 9:00, so make sure that your child is on time. Students need to be in school uniforms. Oct. 30th – Nov. 3rd!!
- Our Halloween Parade and Party. The parade will start around 9:00am on Halloween day and go until around 10:00. Parents are welcome to go to the Q2 gym and watch the parade. We will then have our class party from 10:00ish to 11:30. I need you to fill out a food permission form for your student. The school requires us to have a food permission form from parents in order to allow you child to eat anything at school. Please click here to fill out the food permission form.
- Early out on Tuesday at 1:30
- We do not have school on November 1st! This is Wednesday and a teacher work day.
- PTCs will be on Tuesday, Nov. 7th, and Wednesday, Nov. 9th, from 3:30-7:45. If you do not sign up I will sign up for you and then email you the time that we will meet.

- Thursday, Nov. 9th, third grade will have their first field trip. We will be going to Fremont High School to see their production for Cinderella. I will be sending home the permission form on Monday. We are asking for a $4.00 donation to cover the buses to get us to and from the play. This money can be paid at the office or online. Dibels Reading Level
Parents,
Today, I will be sending home a purple paper with your child’s Dibel reading level information on it. At the beginning of third grade, students should be able to read 70 words per minute, read with a 96% accuracy and have a retell score of 20. Please look over these scores and then we will take about them at parent teacher conferences (PTC). I will be posting a sign ups for PTC later today. Please sign up for the time that best works for you.

November 9th Field Trip!!
