Here’s a quick overview of new things we learned this week:

Comprehension strategy/skill: “Reread” and “Details: Time Order”. We read several different texts to go along with our theme: “Our Natural Resources”
High Frequency Words (Power Words): where, look
Sound and spelling review: all consonants and short vowels

Vocabulary: natural resources, create, weave, designs, knowledge
Math: Lesson 23: “Compose and Decompose Teen Numbers with Tools and Drawings”
Science: This week our class is keeping track of the weather and how it changes. Each day, we noted three things about the weather. Is it sunny, cloudy, or partly cloudy? Is it hot, cold, or mild (somewhere in between)? Is it rainy, snowy, or dry? In our Read-Along lesson, we listened to an illustrated digital storybook. In the story, Kevin becomes a weather detective to figure out why he keeps losing his warm clothes.
