Math Packets

A math packet will be sent home almost each week in students’ take home folders. They don’t need to be returned, but you are welcome to use them for extra practice to reinforce skills taught in class. Plus, they give you a chance to see what concepts we are learning in math!

This is such a great class! They have done a great job learning procedures and following directions and we’re getting ready to jump into more curriculum!

Volunteers Needed

We’re looking for some wonderful volunteers to help with Center Time (starting next week, Tuesday, September 3).

Center Time: 10:40-11:20 Mondays-Thursdays

During Center Time, volunteers will be monitoring and helping students while they work on lessons on their iPads, paper assignments, and quiet handwriting activities on the floor. Answering questions, helping with iPads and helping them stay on task would be your main job. Ms. Becky and Ms. Lisa will be working with small groups at the same time. We would depend on you being there, so please consider this carefully before committing.

Most volunteers enjoy coming in once a week on the same day, while some are able and want to come more than once a week. Please indicate what you prefer and the day(s) that work for you. I’ll do my best to coordinate your preferences, depending on how many volunteers I hear from. If interested, please email me: lteichert@questac.org

Thank you so much for being willing to help! Centers run that much more smoothly with the extra hands!

Picture Day: Wednesday, Aug. 28

Picture Day is Wednesday, August 28- All students will have their pictures taken. We use these pictures for our name badges and school yearbook.

Wear school UNIFORMS, no spirit shirts (in the Spring there will be a dress down picture day)

A popular item to purchase is a class photo. The class photo is included in most of the packages. It can also be purchased individually. Please note: in the past class photos have been delivered at a later date than individual student photos.

If you choose to purchase pictures, you can pay online at: Lifetouch
Online code is: EVTRB883H

Scholastic Book Orders

We are excited to take advantage of the Scholastic Book Club program in our classroom.  Ordering books for your children through Scholastic gives our class points towards free books that your child can utilize in the classroom.

Our first book order will be due Friday, September 27th. You can find the “Scholastic Book Club” link on the blog’s contents bar or simply click here: Scholastic Reading Club (use class activation code: Y8WGR).  Online ordering is fast and easy and allows you to shop all the books, not just the select books in the current flyer.

Great First Day!

I loved our first day together and enjoyed getting to know your cute kids! They are so much fun! We learned procedures and rules for our class mixed in with some fun and practice. I’m looking forward to tomorrow!

I will be sending an email this weekend with a link to see pictures we take, and we’ll continue to add pictures to the folder that you can enjoy all year.

School Breakfast and Lunch

Breakfast is available prior to the start of class (8:00-8:20am).  Students eating breakfast should go directly to the lunchroom when they arrive at the school. Parents are welcome to accompany their child to the lunchroom for breakfast. It costs $0.30 for students that qualify for the reduced price and $1.50 for full pay students. We encourage you to submit an online free/reduced meal application through your Aspire account.  It is a super quick process.

Lunch is also available to half day kindergarten students if parents accompany them to the lunchroom after they’re dismissed from school at 11:30. It costs $0.40 for students that qualify for the reduced price and $2.00 for all full pay students. For lunch, students will choose either a hot or cold entree. They will also have access to the full salad bar with a variety of fruits and vegetables.

The breakfast and lunch menus can be found at the following link. Quest Academy’s Menu

Our lunchroom staff will be available during Back to School night to answer questions and to allow the students to see the lunchroom. If your child has any allergies, this is a great time to talk with the staff. Note: All allergies need to be documented in Aspire.

You may contact Stephanie Hadley (shadley@questac.org) if you have any questions.
