What To Expect This Week

About School This Week
School this week (5/18-5/22) will be much different than what your student is used to.  There will be no lessons, no videos to watch, no assignments, no worksheets, etc. .  We will solely work on our iReady Reading and Math diagnostics. Your student’s only job is to get their diagnostic assessments finished.  Some things to remember about the diagnostic:

  • Please do not work on the diagnostic outside of the assigned Zoom meeting.
  • Log into iReady with the QR code first, then Zoom.
  • If your student does not make the necessary progress each day, your student will be invited to a second session between 12:15PM and 1:00PM.
  • Please make sure to attend your iReady Diagnostic meeting each day.  Attendance will be taken.
iReady Diagnostic Schedule
Each student will log into iReady daily (Monday – Thursday) at their assigned time.  Daily meetings will be as follows:
–Dragonflies (Brighton), use the Zoom link and log-in at 8:30
–Grasshoppers (Kenzie M, Brenlie, Bria, Miles), use the Zoom link and log in at 9:00
–Bees (Emma, Marayah, Violet), use the Zoom link and log in at 9:30
–Ladybugs (Dexter, Noah, Kenzi L), use the Zoom link and log-in at 10:00
–Butterflies (Landon, Jaxson, Wynter, Ryleigh, Leilani, Jacob), use the Zoom link and log in at 10:30
–Praying Mantises (Treyson, Stevie, Ryker, Easton, Liam), use the Zoom link and log in at 11:00

Some Daily Fun
Monday, 5/18 will be Hat Day: Wear a hat to your iReady Diagnostic meeting
Tuesday, 5/19 will be Stuffed Animal Day: Bring a stuffed animal to your iReady diagnostic  meeting
Wednesday, 5/20 will be New Name Day: Pick a new middle name and add it to your first name on Zoom for the day. It can be silly, but still appropriate.
Thursday, 5/21 will be Favorite Color Day.  Wear your favorite color to your iReady meeting.
Friday, 5/22/2020 will be our last day of school.  We will meet on Zoom and do a fun activity with baby pictures, give virtual hugs, and say goodbye.  I’m not crying; you’re crying!

Preparing for the iReady Diagnostic

Students and families,
Quest will be administering the iReady Diagnostic to all students soon. The diagnostic will measure your student’s growth in First Grade, tell us what they have learned, and what they need to learn.
  • Watch the blog for information on when your student will take the diagnostic.
  • Students will log into iReady first, then Zoom second.  It is important to log into the programs in this order to ensure the QR code works properly.
  • Please do not work on your diagnostic outside of your assigned time.
  • It is imperative your student attends his/her assigned diagnostic meeting.
  • Please do not assist your student with answers on the diagnostic.
Here is a quick video for students to watch about the diagnostic:
