Volunteer Opportunites

Volunteers are greatly appreciated in class. Please let me know if you would like to volunteer for one of the following positions:

Room Parent: This is a position that requires commitment to organize the Halloween Party, Christmas Party, and other events that you may come up throughout the year. This person would be in charge of getting volunteers (if needed), coming up with activities, and possibly shopping for supplies for 2-3 events during the school year.

Bulletin Board Artist: Being a teacher takes a lot of planning, and I don’t get a lot of time to decorate the bulletin board. This person would change the bulletin board about once a month to keep it exciting and motivating. I will have students do artwork, poetry, and other projects to put on the board from time to time. You would help out once a month for a couple of hours, at your own convenience.

Teaching Helper(s): This person would take students into the hall in small groups to help in the teaching process. They may also take students out one at a time to test reading fluency. This would require visiting class once a week, or once every other week, depending on your schedule. You would help out in the mornings.

Guest Teachers: If you have something exciting that you want to share with the class by teaching a lesson, just let me know. I have had parents share their specialized knowledge in many different fields, such as Geology, Meteorology, and History. It is fun for me to learn something new along with the students. If you are interested in being a guest speaker just let me know.
