Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a wonderful break and holiday. I want to wish you all a Happy New Year! I missed your sweet kids and am excited to get back! This week will be very busy as we are almost half way through the school year. We will be working on text dependent writing from non-fiction text, starting our Mouse and the Motorcycle unit, and learning about Fables. We also will be working HARD to get our multiplication facts down. We will be finishing up 6’s, 7’s, and 8’s this week so please have your child work on them at home as well. I will be teaching them some games that they can do at home to help with this.
Thank You!

HOMEWORK Jan. 4 – 8

There will be NO Words Sorts this week since I am still assessing each student.
Math: Please work on Prodigy Monday-Thursday for at least 15 minutes each night. I have assigned multiplication practice to help get those facts down.

Remember to READ at least 5 times a week for 20 minutes!
It is imperative that your child is participating in reading practice at home. Studies have shown that the more words a child read, the better their achievement is in all other areas.  We will be starting book talks where the students talk about what they read the night before.  Not only are they given homework points for reading, but they will be given participation points for discussing what they’ve read the night before. Thanks!
