This week will be busy and productive!

Friday we will be peeling apples for our apple witches. Please send an apple with your child by Thursday (We will not be eating them). This is a really fun writing activity that we do for Halloween. I do need 5 parent volunteers to come in and help peel. Please check bloomz.net for the sign up, our class code is W3SVKU.

that you could send with your child.

MATH


Play Prodigy 3 nights for at least 10 minutes. There is no need to turn anything in, I have a report to see if how long your child has been on. If you haven’t signed up, the directions are below.

Students are to get on to prodigy and link their accounts, if they already have one, or sign up, if you are new to Prodigy, and link them to my teacher account.

READING
Read for at least 5 times a week for 20 minutes!
It is imperative that your child is participating in reading practice at home. Studies have shown that the more words a child read, the better their achievement is in all other areas.  We will be starting book talks where the students talk about what they read the night before.  Not only are they given homework points for reading, but they will be given participation points for discussing what they’ve read the night before. Thanks!

I know this is a late post but we took a picture of our third day of third grade a couple of weeks ago! 

Our first full week went great! I can already tell this is going to be a wonderful year. We will be starting homework this week!

We have been learning a card game called Magic to solidify their number sense. If at all possible, have your child practice playing the game at home. All they need is a deck of cards without the Kings, Queens, Jacks, and 10’s. Thanks! We are having a great week!
