Homework (February 15-19)

Homework this week is due on Friday, February 19:

1- Math Homework:  
*Complete every other problem (alternate between evens and odds) on the worksheets.  Please check your child’s work for ACCURACY.
*Practice your math facts (addition and subtraction) regularly by utilizing any of the math facts activities listed here: Math Facts Activities
*REMEMBER*!  As part of your Math Facts Activities Homework, include practice of your Addition Strategies Flash Cards
Helpful Hint:  Place the timed test your child is working on in a plastic sheet protector and use a dry-erase marker to practice over and over.  The goal is to finish 25 problems in 1 minute and 30 seconds, with 90% accuracy (23 out of 25 problems correct).  To print the timed test click here: Timings-ALL

ORANGE group (ck, ke, k): Abigail, Kaleb, Samantha, Izabella, Brittany, Emma, Evelyne, Jak, Alex
Hint: all the words ending in -ck have short vowel sounds, the words ending in -ke have long vowel sounds, and the words ending in -k have vowel sounds that are neither long nor short.  Students benefit from blind sorting these words so they rely on listening to the sound of the vowel and not just looking at the letter patterns.
**This is an assessment week for this group** If they get 90% or higher they will move to a new sort section, if not they will repeat this sort section or portions of it again.
