Testing – End of Year

April 24, 2025

Dear Families,

Thank you for your support during Acadience/Diagnostic Testing (Monday 4/28 – Friday 5/2) and RISE Testing (Wednesday 5/7 – Wednesday 5/14). Here are a few ways you can help your child succeed:

  • Ensure they get enough sleep.
  • Make sure they arrive at school on time.
  • Encourage them to stay at school all day.
  • Provide a healthy breakfast.
  • Students may bring ONE small snack per day 4/28 to 5/16 (fruit snack, cracker, granola bar, etc).

All of these steps contribute to their success and show the growth they have made this year. I am cheering for them!

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.

Additional Action Items:

  • Please fill out the End of Year permission slip.
  • We are still seeking donations for our end-of-year field trip. We are $250 shy of our class goal. If you can donate, it would be incredibly helpful to make this trip a success. Donations can be made in the office or online with this link.

Classroom Expectations

March 24, 2025

Parents,

Several students have been having difficulty with maintaining focus and using their voices appropriately in class. To address this, I have implemented various strategies, such as rearranging seating, learning incentives, incorporating carpet time, and minimizing distractions. However, since this remains an ongoing challenge, we will be utilizing a portion of our recess time tomorrow 3/25 to revisit and reinforce our classroom expectations.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we work together to create a positive learning environment for everyone.

Ms. Beal

NHMU Field Trip 3/5

February 17, 2025

Remember there will be no school Monday, February 17th, for President’s Day. We have an exciting announcement with a permission form!

We are looking forward to an awesome field trip to the Natural History Museum of Utah on Wednesday, March 5th. Please be sure to review all of the information and sign the **PERMISSION SLIP** for your child as soon as possible. We are also asking for parent volunteers to help chaperone this field trip (as indicated on the permission slip). Space is limited, so we will draw names from a lottery and notify you if you are selected. We ask that you complete the form by this coming Wednesday, February 19th. Please note, we are asking for a donation of $5 per student and $10 per chaperone (if selected in the lottery) for this field trip.

When we return to school this week, we will work on adding and subtracting decimals and fractions with unlike denominators in story problems. Finding a common denominator and carrying out these equations can be tricky and I’m proud of the hard work our class has done and will keep doing together! Because we are reviewing in class, there will be no tutoring.

In ELA, we will consider the question, “How can scientific knowledge change over time?” as we work on identifying the main idea and key details in a text. For science, we will begin learning about the cycling of matter, focusing on producers and consumers within food chains. It will be a great week of learning!

Thank you,

Mrs. Beal
