Orthodontic Field Trip
Dear Families,
We are excited to announce our first out-of-school field trip to the orthodontic office of Dr. Pobanz Monday December 2nd! This adventure will kick off our new science unit on changes in matter, emphasizing the fascinating connections between science and how it applies to everyday life.
During the visit, students can look forward to engaging in activities at various stations:
- Sugar Station: Discover the sugar content in our favorite foods and treats. Then learn the importance of removing the sugar turned acid from their teeth to prevent decay.
- Brushing Station: Students will act as teeth while we demonstrate the steps of brushing on a large scale.
- Jr. Orthodontist: Students will take turns being the doctor and patient, diagnosing orthodontic and dental needs.
- Scan Station: We’ll showcase upcoming dental technology, including scanners.
- Dr. John’s Tooth Anatomy Station: Dr. John will teach students about tooth anatomy and the diverse careers available in the dental field.
We would love to have a few parent volunteers join us. If you are interested, please indicate on the permission slip to enter a lottery. We will notify you this week if you are selected. (Please no siblings or additional guests.)
Thank you for your continued support!
Best regards,
Ms. Beal
