I got it to upload finally!!  Check out the tab at the top of the page titled TRICK OR READING for the poster papers and information.  There are also a couple of ideas/examples.  🙂

Remember that there are only two days this week!  No school on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday!!  

There will be no Words Their Way this week, or Reader Response Journals!  There is no homework over the long break.  The goal is to enjoy your break and your family!!  🙂  

The end of the term is the 25th! (I can’t believe it’s already that time!!) ANY missing work needs to be turned in no later than the 22nd to be counted!!  There are still a lot of missing assignments out there!!  

Hey everyone!  I want to say thank you to everyone who braved the rain to come to Parent/Teacher conferences!  It’s been great chatting with everyone!!  

A couple of reminders:

Friday (tomorrow) is early out–not dress down, just early out.  

We only have school on Monday and Tuesday next week!  Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are Fall Break days!  

The end of term 1 is on the 25th.  All missing assignments need to be turned in no later than the 22nd to be counted!  (Some of you I told the 18th at conferences, but I forgot we didn’t have school on the 18th–who forgets that?!!)

I can’t wait to see everyone and be able to chat with you about your kiddos this week!  My schedule is very full and so we will have to work really hard to stay on time–this is always the tough part for me. 🙂  Don’t forget that I’d like to have the kiddos at the conference as well, so they can show you how awesome they are!

While you are hanging around the school for conferences, don’t forget that we have the book fair going on this week in the gym!

It’s time for some Trick or Reading!!  Here is the letter for the October project!  I will be creating a page on the blog with all the different pieces that will need to go on the students’ posters.  Remember, the poster and pumpkin are a must, but the costume is optional.  🙂  A paper version of this assignment will also be sent home.  🙂

Trick or Reading Parent Letter

The forecast for tomorrow:  cold and wet.  Ugh!!  

Please send your student in appropriate clothes.  We will be outside a lot!  

Students need to have a jacket/coat, comfortable shoes to walk in, a backpack to hold their lunch (no lunch is provided by the school), and a water bottle.  School rules are that students going on field trips, must wear school uniforms.  I asked about being able to wear spirit shirts, but the answer was no, they have to be in their regular school uniform clothes. 

The buses are scheduled to leave at 8:30–we will start meeting in our classroom around 8:20 to make sure we have everyone!  We don’t want to leave anyone behind, so please be on time!  🙂

We are getting close to Parent/Teacher Conferences–I personally can’t believe we are already to this point in the year!!  I don’t really like the name “Parent/Teacher” conferences, because I like the students to be there.  In fact, the students have their own portfolio of information they are going to explain and show you!  Please make sure the kids are here for the conference too.  I have a few spots still open–if none of those work for you, please let me know and we’ll schedule a different time.  🙂  Here are the times I still have available:
