Homework…

by on Dec.09, 2013, under Homework

Again this week, there is no Words Their Way homework.  Tonight, students need to just read for 20 minutes, and write their Reader Response Journal if it’s due.

Missing work reports were put into the students’ mailboxes today.  If there is any missing work, it needs to be turned in by Friday, or it’s a zero!

Homework for 12/5/13

by on Dec.05, 2013, under Uncategorized

Today we talked about Personification: Giving human characteristics to non-living things (“My computer hates me!”)

For the homework tonight, students will need to come up with 5 sentences using Personification.  Write them down and turn them in tomorrow morning.

Don’t forget your Reader Response Journal and Reading for 20 minutes!

Whew–Mean Mrs. Schneider challenged the kids today both in writing and in Science/Computers today.  Wow, we have some kids who don’t want to have to think on their own, and are big whiners!  We are going to fix that! 😉

Homework for Tonight! 12/3/13

by on Dec.03, 2013, under Homework

Today in class, we talked about similes.  We did an activity where we opened our read-aloud book, picked a sentence that was “dull” and then changed it to include a simile, which made it much more descriptive!

Tonight’s homework:
Pick 5 sentences from a book you are reading.  Then change them to include a simile.  Write your sentences on a piece of lined paper and turn it in tomorrow!

Also, don’t forget to read for 20 minutes and do your Reader Response Journal.  🙂

Stay warm!!

Homework This Week…

by on Dec.02, 2013, under Homework

Things will be a little different with homework this week!  I am retesting and regrouping Words Their Way groups this week.  Therefore, there is no Words Their Way homework this week.  However, we will be replacing that with some figurative language homework.  🙂  I will post the homework each day on the blog and would like it turned in the next day.  I will also email the homework so that everyone gets it.  (Not to mention, we will discuss in class what needs to be done that night!)

Tonight there is no figurative language work.  It’s just reading for 20 minutes and Reader Response Journals (if they are due tonight, or you want to get a head start!)

Tomorrow we will be talking about our December Project and the permission slips and instructions will be sent home.
