If your student hasn’t mentioned it–you should check out the Science Tab! We did a class activity to learn about soil. I posted a question, and the students needed to read through their resources to find the answers and then post their answers to the blog! It was an amazing activity that allowed students to work as groups, scan through and review information that they have already read, and a fun way (since they made it a race between the groups) to learn about soil! 🙂 We also talked about writing complete sentences and how to restate part of the question in the answer. Fun times in Science!!
(We also did an activity like this to review Main Idea!)
Also, don’t forget to look over the class calendar–it’s really starting to fill up with some very important events. 🙂

Just in case, here are the assignments for Words Their Way tonight…
Red Group–We are creating our own word sorts using aw, au, al, ow, ou, oy, and oi. Students need to fill in each category with three words.
Yellow-Write three words that fit into each of the categories–they need to be new words–not from the list. (Word Hunt works great for this!!)

Top Blue-Finish filling out the paper, by underlining the prefix and writing the number meaning of the prefix
Purple: Write 2 words from each category and their meanings
Bottom Blue: Finish filling out the paper–putting whether or not the word is an adjective or a noun…pay attention to the meaning of the words to help you.
