Mrs. Schneider's Super Stars

A few things….

by on Oct.27, 2013, under Class News

First of all, THANK YOU so much to everyone who helped make our field trip to the Apple Store a HUGE success!!  I hope everyone had as much fun as I did!!  🙂

Second:  Quest does not send out paper grades anymore.  Your student’s grades are posted in SIS.  Please log on to see Term 1 grades.  As mentioned before, the grading/missing assignment guidelines will be different starting now.  Missing work reports will be handed out on Mondays and if the work is not in by Friday, it’s a permanent zero.

Third:  This week…is CRAZY!!  🙂  We have the Earthquake Trailer (it was rescheduled), Halloween, Trick or Reading projects, and the class earned a Read-a-Thon.  🙂

Halloween:
This will be a short day (1:00).  Students are allowed to wear costumes to school–no masks, blood, or gore.  We will be doing a costume parade starting at 9:00, then we will head back to class to do some Halloween activities.  It will then be time to clean up, send the kids to recess and lunch…and then they get to be with you!  🙂

Trick or Reading:
If you can’t get the info for the posters on the blog, PLEASE let me know ASAP, so that you can get full points for the project!  The pumpkins and posters are due on November 1st.  Students can bring them in on the 31st if they’d like, but please don’t send them any earlier.  We don’t have room in our classroom to store 27 pumpkins! (not to mention, I don’t want the smell of 27 pumpkins!)  Students will set up their posters, pumpkins, and books and wait for classes (and parents if you’d like to come!) to come through.  Students should be prepared to give a quick (I mean super quick) summary of their story.  We will do this until around 10:30/11:00.

Class Read-a-Thon:
The class has earned a Read-a-Thon for their awesome behavior, and following directions!  We will be doing this in the afternoon on November 1st.  Students are allowed to bring in blankets and pillows to be comfy while they read!

Do you know anything about how to print out a report card of some sort to take in to places to let the kids get free stuff for A grades? I could print out one that had HUGE “unofficial report card” all across it. Didn’t know how well that’d go over at the places we took it to. 😉 Guess we’ll just try it if you don’t have a better suggestion. Thanks!
