Khan Academy
by Shila Schneider on Jan.07, 2014, under Math
I would really like to start Khan Academy with the kiddos. This will allow them to work at their pace and challenge themselves in math. It will also show what concepts they have mastered so we know what things we need to hit. 🙂 I have signed up the kiddos using my own email (this is a newer feature).
If you have an issue or concern with your student using Khan Academy…please email me and let me know ASAP. 🙂

Update

I hope that everyone has been enjoying their time off! I know I have!
I wanted to let you know that I’ve been trying to upload the Box of Hope videos that I took, but for some reason I can’t get them to upload from home. 🙁 I will keep trying and if nothing else, I’ll go to the school one of these days and try to upload them from there! 🙂 It was an amazing project that turned out amazing–just as I had hope and expected! I can’t wait for everyone to see the videos with the reactions and faces!
Like I’ve said before, it’s my favorite project we do all year, by far!!
Keep enjoying your time off!!
See you in January!!
Thursday..
by Shila Schneider on Dec.18, 2013, under Love, Mrs. Schneider
Tomorrow we will be sharing our Boxes of Hope. There are still a few things missing for some kiddos…PLEASE make sure they get brought in!
Just a quick reminder to kiddos that since Friday’s schedule is so crazy, we have library tomorrow! Don’t forget your books!
It’s also the Read-a-Thon from 1-2. If you want to bring in blankets/pillows to be comfortable, you are more than welcome to!
A few things…
by Shila Schneider on Dec.17, 2013, under Class News
Please remember that all COMPLETED Boxes of Hope need to be brought in tomorrow, Wednesday, December 18th. This is so that I can check off that everyone will have one for Thursday! 🙂 We don’t want anyone left without a box on Thursday, so please make sure that you bring in the completed box. If you know your student is going to be gone on Thursday, please bring in their box on Wednesday so that their person still has something to open and read Thursday.
Polar Express: I haven’t gotten back all the permission slips yet! If I don’t have a permission slip, the students can’t partake in the hot cocoa or treats. If you are donating hot chocolate, cider, or whipped cream and you want the left overs back, please write your name on the items. 🙂 If you would like to donate the donut holes–we need to be specific and they need to be purchased from Kents. This is due to allergies. I have a hot cocoa maker that I’m going to bring in on Friday–if anyone else has one they’d like to let us borrow, that would be great!
We will be starting the movie at 10 am. If you have turned in your permission slip saying that you will volunteer, thank you!! I have four volunteers already, which should be plenty! Thanks for all the support!!

The homework for the week:
Read for 20 minutes
Reader Response Journal
any Missing Work (I’ll send home the slips tomorrow…I’m home with a sick one year old today)
and Box of Hope.
The Boxes of Hope need to be brought in on Wednesday so that we can exchange them on Thursday. They can’t be late, or we will have very sad kiddos…and we don’t want that!! 🙂
Please make sure that permission slips (for the Polar Express Party) get brought in as soon as possible, as well!
