Homework 12/10/13
by Shila Schneider on Dec.10, 2013, under Homework
Today in class we learned about Idioms! Idioms are phrases that if you take literally, they do not have the same meaning as they mean. For example: It’s raining cats and dogs!
Students need to write 5 idioms and turn in the paper tomorrow.
Also, some students did not get done with their multiplication worksheets from today. They should have taken them home with them. They need to be done for tomorrow.
And of course, don’t forget the Reader Response Journals and reading for 20 minutes! 🙂
Have a great night! Stay warm!

Missing work reports were put into the students’ mailboxes today. If there is any missing work, it needs to be turned in by Friday, or it’s a zero!

by Shila Schneider on Dec.03, 2013, under Homework
Today in class, we talked about similes. We did an activity where we opened our read-aloud book, picked a sentence that was “dull” and then changed it to include a simile, which made it much more descriptive!
Tonight’s homework:
Pick 5 sentences from a book you are reading. Then change them to include a simile. Write your sentences on a piece of lined paper and turn it in tomorrow!
Also, don’t forget to read for 20 minutes and do your Reader Response Journal. 🙂
Stay warm!!
