Check it out…

by on Mar.26, 2014, under Love, Mrs. Schneider, Science

If your student hasn’t mentioned it–you should check out the Science Tab!  We did a class activity to learn about soil.  I posted a question, and the students needed to read through their resources to find the answers and then post their answers to the blog!  It was an amazing activity that allowed students to work as groups, scan through and review information that they have already read, and a fun way (since they made it a race between the groups) to learn about soil!  🙂  We also talked about writing complete sentences and how to restate part of the question in the answer.  Fun times in Science!!

(We also did an activity like this to review Main Idea!)

Also, don’t forget to look over the class calendar–it’s really starting to fill up with some very important events.  🙂

Book signing…

by on Mar.10, 2014, under Love, Mrs. Schneider

I just got this email!  In case you missed last Thursday’s book signing…there is another chance!!  Check it out!!

Hello Everyone,

Once again, it is our pleasure at your Layton Barnes & Noble to welcome best-selling author, Brandon Mull to our store.  He will be here Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 11th at 6:00 PM to meet with the public and sign copies of the first book in his brand new Five Kingdoms Series, Sky Raiders.  This time, Brandon has brought his friend and up-and-coming children’s author, Chad Morris with him.  Chad is the author of the great new Cragbridge Hall series.  This is an excellent opportunity to meet with two wonderful authors and purchase personalized and signed copies of their books.

For those of you who have attended one of Brandon’s signings before, you know how long the lines at his events can be; which is why we’re going to try something a little different this time.  Instead of having to wait in line, we will be handing out wristbands starting at 4:00 PM.  That way, you may leave and come back at 6:00 or browse the store without fear of losing your place in line.

We look forward to seeing you all there!
