Read A Thon…

by on Jan.26, 2014, under Uncategorized

Bright green Read-a-thon papers have been sent home!

These sponsor sheets (without money)  need to be returned to our class by January 27th at the latest.  If you bring the sponsor sheet back in time, you will receive a coupon to collect a charm.  The coupon will be sent home, along with your sponsor sheet, on 1/31.  Students will need to collect money and return the sponsor sheet and money to the school on February 5th.

The student who collects the most money will win a Kindle Fire!  Our goal is to raise $7,000, which is only $10 of pledges per student.

On Read-A-Thon Day, (We will be doing this on Thursday, January 30th) students will be reading for an hour during literacy. (We will have library on Thursday right before the Read A Thon, so it will work out perfectly!)  Students can bring in a blanket or a pillow to be comfortable while they read!  🙂

The Student Council is sponsoring Quest Academy’s “Souper Bowl” canned food drive!

It started on Thursday, and all students may bring in canned foods and place them under the team logo that they would like to win the “Super Bowl.”

We will announce Quest’s “Souper Bowl” winner later in February.  The real winners will be the needy individuals that will benefit as a result of Quest Academy’s generous donation to the food bank!

Please help by participating… and show some spirit for your favorite team!

Homework for 12/5/13

by on Dec.05, 2013, under Uncategorized

Today we talked about Personification: Giving human characteristics to non-living things (“My computer hates me!”)

For the homework tonight, students will need to come up with 5 sentences using Personification.  Write them down and turn them in tomorrow morning.

Don’t forget your Reader Response Journal and Reading for 20 minutes!

Whew–Mean Mrs. Schneider challenged the kids today both in writing and in Science/Computers today.  Wow, we have some kids who don’t want to have to think on their own, and are big whiners!  We are going to fix that! 😉

We made it…

by on Nov.21, 2013, under Uncategorized

Can you believe it’s already the end of November?!  I can’t!

Just a couple of reminders:

1-Tomorrow (Friday) is EARLY OUT!!  It is also Dollar Dress Down Day!  So don’t forget your dollars!!

2-There is no school at all next week (as if you could forget that!)  🙂  Enjoy your Thanksgiving Break, be careful, and enjoy the break!

-There is NO HOMEWORK over vacations…so students do not need to do their Reader Response Journals next week.  🙂
